Panel: Gaming and Graphic Cultures in India

Game Studies is a very new but fast developing area within the larger ambit of the Humanities and the Social Sciences. Most of the debates and discussions in this area, however, have been restricted to Europe and North America. Despite the huge numbers of gamers and game enthusiasts in India, very little has happened by way of academic discussions. With the coming of the Games and Literary Theory conference to Kolkata, Indian students have a chance to showcase their research in front of a global audience.

The GamesLit 2019 local panel invites short presentations on games from students but with a specifically Indian connection. Each presentation will be ten minutes long and a limited number of presentations will be selected. Please submit your abstracts (max. 250 words) to: debanjana.eng@presiuniv.ac.in with the subject ‘GamesLitLocal’ by 8th November.

This panel is meant for students of Presidency University but others are welcome to submit abstracts.
